Biggest scare of Halloween

So Heidi had her doctor's appointment and the doctor expressed the concerns that she may be caring twins. The Doctor felt it was a possibility due to the fact that Heidi has been much more ill with this pregnancy than previous. I just about soiled myself and stated that there is no way that I have offended god enough to curse me with twins! Needless to say we were ushered off to have an ultrasound and luck have it .....NO TWINS! While I admit there are a few cool things about the idea of twins, the burdens outweigh the benefits. I am grateful for the SINGLE addition to our family. I have attached a couple images of the little rugrat. The baby looks good and the bumped Heidi's due date to May 15th.

Halloween 2008

Friday night we spent the night with some friends and took the kids to "Boo at the Zoo". The zoo puts on this event every year. They decorate the animals cages and the kids are allowed to dress up and trick or treat and watch the animals. While the kids have seen these animals many times, the nocturnal animals were of special interest. Therefore they got the opportunity to see the bats, lemurs and many of the other creatures of the night in an active state. The kids had a blast, especially scott, but it was Freezing! The weather has taken a turn for the worst in South Dakota. The wind is very strong here and it cuts right through your clothing. On a more recent note, tonight we spent the evening carving pumpkins and enjoying time as a family. I have attached some photos I thought you would all enjoy. Other than that we have nothing to report.

All is well

Grandma Slater,
The dress fits fine. Avery complains that it is "itchy" but she will get over it. It fits great and we will be looking forward to the holidays.

First Halloween event

Not much new to report. Heidi is feeling better but the Pregnasaurus continues to crop its ugly head out now and again. School is busy but I have gotten use to the routine and have found which classes I can procrastinate on and which I cannot. Now that I got that dialed in, I have found that I have more free time than when I was in Salt Lake working 2 jobs. This is a very welcome development due to the fact that Heidi is continually feeling under the weather. Tonight we went to our first Halloween event and the kids loved it. Scott chose to be Buzz Lightyear and Avery chose some character from high school musical 2 (she has told me 3 times what the character's name is but it continues to elude me). Any rate, the event was held at the "Outdoor Campus" and it was designed to teach kids about the wilderness.... halloween style. Apparently, this is a very popular event that Sioux Falls puts on every year. We were very lucky to get our reservations in time. The kids were encouraged to wear their spooky halloween costumes and visit various educational exhibits. The trails were illuminated by numerous jack-o-lanterns and guided us through the dark wooded area. We watched puppet shows, ate popcorn, cooked smores, drank cider and made trick or treat bags. It was very fun but also very cold. Scott was less than happy but the end of the voyage but what else is new. Any rate I attached a couple photos of the kids. We wish everyone well.
